Good questions, clear answers

Frequently asked questions.

What to expect when planning your trip with Salty Pause Travel.

Do you charge a travel-planning fee?
No. Salty Pause Travel does not charge a planning fee. Supplier deposits, fares, taxes, fees and cancellation terms still apply to the travel you select.
Does booking through a travel advisor cost more?
There is no added planning fee from us. Travel pricing and promotions are set by the applicable cruise line, hotel, tour operator or other supplier. We help compare the options and explain what is included.
Do you only plan cruises?
No. We specialize in premium cruises and also plan custom land journeys, hotels, transfers, experiences and pre- or post-cruise stays.
Can you help with flights and hotels?
Yes. We can coordinate hotels and other trip components. Airfare options depend on the itinerary and the best booking approach for your trip, so we will discuss them with you.
Can you take over an existing cruise reservation?
Sometimes. A reservation may be transferable to a travel advisor depending on the cruise line, how recently it was booked and whether final payment has been made. Contact us as soon as possible so we can check the applicable rules.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is strongly encouraged because unexpected events can affect a trip. Policies differ, so travelers should review coverage, exclusions, purchase deadlines and pre-existing-condition provisions carefully.
What happens after I submit the planning form?
We normally respond within one business day. We will review your trip idea, ask any helpful follow-up questions and arrange a conversation about the best next steps.
Can you accommodate dietary or accessibility needs?
We can communicate dietary, mobility and accessibility requests to suppliers and help identify suitable options. Final accommodation of a request must be confirmed by the supplier providing the service.
